Bellefonte looks convincing in tough road win over Central

MARTINSBURG – Late last season fans could see the process starting to take a positive step in the Bellefonte football rebuild.

Then first-year coach Tony Confer helped lead his team to a berth in the  District 6 Class AAA title game.

Fast forward to Friday, the Red Raiders took to the road to face Central, a team that defeated the young Red Raiders last season 49-0.

But 2024 is a different year and it WAS a different story.

This night belonged to the Red Raiders as they didn’t just jump into the regular season but launched themselves into it, posting a hard fought 18-7 upset win over the Red Dragons.

Bellefonte quarterback Liam Halterman led the momentum rushing for over 100 yards on the ground as well putting 18 points on the board in the victory.

The defense had the dominance early and often against Central.

Bellefonte is definitely one to keep an eye on this season after its convincing Friday night victory over a tough Central Squad.
