500 mark in sight! Lady Raiders top Clearfield

One step closer to .500.

The Bellefonte girls basketball team continued its winning ways, moving to 7-8 on the year with its Friday win against Clearfield, 42-34.

Maddie Tice’s 16-point effort led all scorers in the game. She was the only Double Digit Scorer for the Lady Raiders.

Clearfield’s High Scorer was Riley Ryen with 13.

“It was a gusty performance as we finished three games in three days,” said Bellefonte head coach Marcus Toomer. “We were definitely tired but the team dug deep and found the energy to pull out the victory.”

The Red Raiders opened the game by doubling up Clearfield 12-6.

Things continued to roll for Bellefonte as it took the second quarter as well 9-5.

When the two teams went into the intermission, the Lady Raiders led 21-11.

Both teams scored 12 in the third while in the fourth period Clearfield edged Bellefonte 13-11.

But it wouldn’t be enough as the Lady Raiders went on for the win.
