A date with destiny! Gaisior reaches 1,000K’s in win over Line Mountain

MIFFLINTOWN- Simply magical!

Throughout her time in the circle, Juniata phenom pitcher Liz Gaisior has been nothing but spectacular posting win-after-win and strikeout-after-strikeouts.

In last year’s post season, the Lady Indians pitcher was cool under pressure, helping lead her team to a historic run to the PIAA championship game.

Coming into her TVAA game against Line Mountain Friday, Gaisior needed 18 strike outs to reach 1,000 career K’s. She finished with 19.

Most importantly to the focused pitcher, her team came out on top 6-0 on a one-hitter.

Her offense came out large as well, putting runs on the board early on and then let the veteran hurler take it from there.

Offensively, the Lady Indians finished with five hits en route to the victory.

Regan Lowrey was the lone multi hit player in the contest. She finished 2-for-2 on the afternoon, she also scored three times and posted an RBI.

Others picking up hits for Juniata were Gaisior, Savannah Marshall and Alexea Frontz.

Marshall and Lowrey both went yard in the contest.

In the first, Lowrey picked up a walk to get things underway.

Frontz reached on a hit to left field, sending Lowrey to third.

Lowrey and Frontz advanced a base on a wild pitch, putting the first run on the scoreboard.

The Eagles held from there, leaving it a 1-0 contest.

Juniata added a second run in the bottom of the third.

Gaisior helped her own cause roping a single into centerfield. She was replaced by courtesy runner Kalynn Brown.

Lowrey followed in Gaisior’s footsteps and hit one into center as well. Brian moved up to third on the play.

Frontz kept things going as she reached on a Line Mountain miscue allowing Brown to make it a 2-0 contest. Lowrey hustled her way to third on the play.

Frontz alertly stole second. Lowrey scored the Indians third run as she alertly scored on a passed ball.

Frontz later scored on a second error by the Eagles.

Gaisior sailed through the innings going perfect until the fifth where she gave up Line Mountain’s lone hit.

Juniata added two more runs for insurance. But with Gaisior lining up in the circle, the Indians didn’t need it, rolling to 8-0 on the season and for Gaisior it would be yet another mega milestone in her very lucrative pitching career.
