The Mifflin County Lady Huskies Cross Country faced a strong opponent,

Cumberland Valley, on Tuesday, September 3 falling 49-15.

Mia Coffey led the team and Ava Wagner placed a close second for the

team with another PR.

“Ava continues to have a new confidence in

herself,” said Mifflin County coach Neil Breneman. “Of course, a double PR within 3 days of each other helps to build that confidence.”

The Cumberland Valley course has a long grueling hill in the middle of

the race. The sun was beating down, but they pushed through the

challenge and gave it their best. Ava Kratzer also ran a good race for

being so close to running BVI on Saturday. Lizzy Massie, new to the

team in her Sophomore year, ran her first high school 5K race.

“Lizzyhas been so good for the team. She has a positive attitude and always has a contagious smile, said Breneman.

The next race for the Lady Huskies will be this Saturday, September 7,

in the PTXC Invitational at Kutztown.
