MC XC boys led by first place win by Carter Smith
KUTZTOWN- Saturday, the MIfflin County boys cross country team competed at Kutztown where they finished 7th in the gold race.
Once again, Mifflin County was led by a first place finish by Carter Smith who finished with a time of 15:51.
Teammate Reese Cubbison finished 32nd with a time of 17:12.
“The team had a respectable result in Kutztown. Training was heavier for them this week, and so I think they were feeling the effects of that and Tuesday’s race today,” said Mifflin County coach Alex Monroe. “Regardless, I am really proud of the way they competed. Carter Smith remains undefeated in his first ever cross country season, Reese Cubbison and Wyatt Kauffman had solid days on a tough course, and Aidan Scavitti is finding some great consistency in his racing. The standout of the day was Michael Mcnitt in the JV race who had a huge PR. He joins the team as a fantastic hurdler/kicker and is really improving over 5k.”
In JV action, the young Huskies finished 16th in the invitational.
“We face more MPC competition on Tuesday with a double dual meet against Chambersburg and Carlisle,” added Monroe.
