Massie captures PR; MC girls XC falls to Chambersburg/Carlisle

The Mifflin County girls cross country team was defeated by Chambersburg (15-45) and Carlisle (24-31) in Tuesday’s double dual meet at Carlisle High School.

”I knew Chambersburg had a team we would not be able to defeat. I was hoping we would be able to get Carlisle. We were able to finish our top four before their fourth, however, with them taking the top three, it makes it impossible to win in a double dual meet,” said MIfflin County coach Neil Breneman. “Overall they put in some good effort after an intense race schedule in the past 2 weeks.”

Amilia Coffey led the team with Ava Kratzer finishing close behind her. Ava Wagner was not far behind in third.

“It is encouraging to continue seeing them run together as a group. Lizzy Massie, in her first year of running, knocked almost 1.5 minutes from her previous PR,” said Breneman. “Lizzy remains a positive and upbeat team member who always runs with a smile.”

The next meet for the Lady Huskies will be on their home course on 9/17.

Scoring for the Huskies:

Amilia Coffey                23:16

Ava Kratzer                  23:28

Ava Wagner                 23:48

Alexis Anderson           25:44

Caroline Palopoli          26:47
