Bellefonte improves to 11-1 with win over Tyrone

The Bellefonte boys soccer keeps their successful season  rolling right along as they defeated Tyrone 4- 1 in Laurel Highlands action improving to 11-1 on the year.

“It was a really good game tonight. Fine Tyrone credit they came out quick on us tonight. We gave up a cheap corner early in the game and it kinda woke us up,” said Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “At halftime we talked about coming out quick and playing faster. It was a good half time. They were not down on themselves. They stayed upbeat and came out really aggressive and scored three quick goals to put the game away. I was proud of how they all played tonight.”

Tyrone scored first at 11:42 Cameron Nelson scored off a corner kick.

Bellefonte scored their first at 25:24 on a Gage Rankin goal with the assist from John Servant.

Both teams went into the intermission tied at one.

In the 2nd half, Ian Orr got the Bellefonte scoring started at 45:08.

Minutes later at 47:35, Connelle Stabinger scored via an assist by Desmond Grindley.

Rounding out the scoring at 62:34 was Bellefonte’s Wesley Cooke.

Bellefonte outshot Tyrone 12-5.

Next game for the Red Raiders is Monday at Clearfield at 4:00.
