Coach Miller said “Everybody ran with heart on a very warm day today. It was nice to see 4 (Hannah, Aubrey, Charlotte, and Juliet) of the girls walk away with personal best times. With almost 300 runners, this was the largest field of athletes they have competed against.”
The boys were next on the day with seventh grader Evan Yackey leading the way and making the medal stand by placing 13th with a personal best time 11:05.3. Evan was the first seventh grader to finish. Next for the Indian boys was eighth grader Matthew Corman in 85thplace with a personal best time of 12:23.5. Eighth grader Elliott Miller came in next in 191st place with a time of 13:25.1 with seventh grader Landon Miller coming in shortly behind in 199th place in a time of 13:30.9. The Indian boys 5th scorer was eighth grader Alex Copenheaver in 225th place with a personal best time of 13:48.7. Other Indian boy finishers were:
Austin Phillips – 255th – 14:13.6
Andy Rutherford – 321st – 15:21.1
Mason Hardin – 372nd – 19:12.6
“It was exciting to see Evan make the podium today and run a personal best time in the process. Matthew Corman has been very consistent with this being his first year of running and continues to prove himself by getting better throughout the season. It was nice to see Alex walk away with a PR as well. Like the girls, this was the largest field of athletes our boys competed against with almost 400 runners. This race will help prepare both the girls and boys for the PA Middle School Championships in Lock Haven in two weeks.” Coach Miller said.
