I really enjoyed watching Luke and John work together throughout the race to accomplish the time they set out to run. Coy, Kade, David, and Joel ran well, but just came up short of personal best times.” Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said.
In the girls race, multisport athlete Carolyn Heidenreich led the girl Indians with a personal best time of 20:53 for 3rd place. Sylvia Brubaker came in 4th place with a time of 21:13. Juniata took the win against Mifflin County 26 – 29, but lost against Williamsport 35 – 22. “I was happy for Carolyn breaking the 21:00 barrier for the first time. She’s a very talented hard working girl that has done much better this year getting in training runs on top of her primary sport soccer and it’s showing with her consistency. This was Sylvia’s first race since coming back from injury so it was a good test going into districts next week. Hannah ran tough and will take today’s race to better herself for next week’s districts. It was great to see Ella and Erendira run personal best times. Ella dropped over a minute off her best time. She has talent. She just needs to stay consistent with her training and have confidence in herself. Selena is coming off of sickness, so I was just glad to see her race today.” Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said.
