Altoona tops MC boys in hardwood action
It was a tough night on the hardwood for the MIfflin County boys basketball team as the fell to Altoona Wednesday 77-40.
Leading the way for the Huskies in a losing effort was Tyler Metz with 14 points.
Altoona got off to a sizzling start posting a 21-4 start in the first period.
MIfflin County tallied back for 15 in the second. However, the Mountain Lions posted 17.
Altoona went into the intermission leading 38-21.
Opening up the third quarter, the Mountain Lions’ offense heated up once again while its defense held the Huskies en route to a 27-7 stanza.
From there, the Huskies refused to give up and outscored Altoona 14-12 in the final quarter.
But it wasn’t enough as the Mountain Lions’ went onto the victory.
