Bald Eagle Area girls shuts out Huntingdon

They continued to grind it out.

The Bald Eagle girls soccer team muscled out a 2-0 win over Huntingdon Wednesday.

Bald Eagle dominated shots on targets by a 20-3 margin while they also won in the corners category 7-0.

Bald Eagle Area goalie Angie Grieb had three saves while Huntingdon’s Simone Bilich finished with 18.

“The girls worked well together tonight. Major props to Huntingdon’s keeper, she was everywhere tonight and made some huge saves to really keep us at bay, but Falen knocked a couple home and that sealed it for us,” said Bald Eagle Are coach Jared Moore. “This was a great win going into playoffs. It gives us some momentum and confidence. It was a special night, with it being senior night and Falen breaking the school scoring record. Emotions were high and it was a fitting finish to a great season.”

Falen McHenry scored on a penalty kick at 48:13.

McHenry put the insurance goal in on assist by Anna Cingle at 50:15.

BEA Record: 9-7-1 overall, 9-4-1 Mountain League.
