Bald Eagle Area topped Brookville in mat action
WINGATE – The Bald Eagle wrestling team continues to sizzle as they went into its Christmas break as 45-23 win over Brookville Thursday.
Starting at 215, Matthew Knepp opened the win for the Eagles with a 16-10 decision over Caden Marshall.
Brookville took the lead at 285 when Baily Miller pinned Eric Clark at 0:30.
Bald Eagle took back the advantage at 106 when Gavin Guenot pinned Chris Carroll at 2:35.
Things continued to go Bald Eagle’s way at 113 when the Eagles’ Lucas Fye won by tech fall 16-1 at 5:28 over Jared Popson.
120-pounder Coen Bainey kept things rolling as he won by pitfall over Logan Oakes at 0:47.
Brookville got back on the board at 126 when Cole Householder won by pin over Owen Johnson at 1:48.
At 132, Bookville’s Owen Reinsel pinned Grace Stem at 0:54.
Brookville won its third in a row when at 138 Brayden Kunselman won by tech fall over Kevin Taylor 15-0 at 5:30.
Bald Eagle battled back to take 145 when Jeffre Pifer pinned Brecken Cieleski at 1:11.
152-pounder Mason Reese pinned Josh Popson at 1:20.
At 160, Bald Eagle’s Cameron Dubbs muscled out a 3-2 victory over Carson Weaver.
172-pounder Caleb Close topped Brookville’s Easton Belfiore by major decision at 9-0.
Rounding out the match was 189-pound Noah Foltz defeated Bookville’s Bryce Weaver via a pin fall at 2:40.
