Bald Eagle boys take tie into fourth quarter but falls to undefeated Central team

Friday night the Bald Eagle Area boys basketball team went up against a very tough Central team.

Despite putting up quite a battle, the Eagles fell to the Dragons 53-40.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 1-3 while Central stayed undefeated at 3-0.

In the JV contest, Central topped BEA 54-31.

Leading the way offensively for the Eagles were Nick Maynard with 20 while teammate Cole Parsons tallied nine in the loss.

Central’s Braden Kitt led all scorers with a 24-point effort while Devon Boyles rounded out the double-digit scorers with 13.

The Dragons had the advantage coming out of the first quarter, taking a 13-6 advantage.

Nathan Hoover, Luke Wilson and Maynard all posted a bucket.

In the second quarter, the Eagles were able to cut the lead to 23-17 by outscoring Central 11-10.

Leading the way for the Eagles was Maynard who posted nine of the Bald Eagle 11 points.

Central was led by Kitts’ 4-points.

Bald Eagle continued to close the gap as it outscored the Dragons 14-8 in the third, cutting it to a 31-31 tie, setting the stage for an exciting final stanza.

In the fourth, the Dragons broke out for its highest scoring total of the game, posting a 22-point effort while its defense held the Eagles to nine, en route to the victory.
