Bald Eagle girls outlast PO in nail biting thriller

It was a nail biter from beginning to end Thursday when Bald Eagle went head-to-head with Mountain League foe Philipsburg-Osceola.

In the end it would be the Eagles that would get their hands raised, winning 1-0.

Mackenzie Bickle posted her team’s only goal on an unassisted effort at 77:08.

It was back and forth for most of the night. We had flashes of possession, but had some trouble in the final third. It was another nail biter,” said Bald Eagle Area coach Jared Moore. “The girls stayed the course and pressured the PO back line and Bickle was in the right place and chipped the keeper perfectly for the game winner. She was the hero tonight!”

Bald Eagle outshot the Mounties 6-4.

The Eagles’ goalie, Angie Grieb- collected four saves while PO’s Kinley Bender had five.

Philipsburg-Osceola led in corner opportunities by a 5-1 Margin.

With the win BEA’s record improves to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Mountain League.
