Bald Eagle girls pick up hard fought victory over Central

The Bald Eagle girls soccer team held onto a close victory Monday night, winning 2-1 over Central in Mountain League action.

Central outshot Bald Eagle 10-9 and in the Lady Eagles goalie Angelina Grieb finished with nine saves while Central’s goalie had seven.

Central got the scoring started as A. Bartley got free on a breakaway goal at 15:25.

The Eagles bounced back to tie the game as Falen McHenry picked up an assist by Alex Hacker at the 20:00 mark.

Falen McHenry thanks to a Grace Wagner pass put her team up for good at the 53:57 mark.

“The girls really started clicking in the second half. Falen McHenry was a workhorse tonight. The back four were really good too. They played tough defense on some really talented Central forwards,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “Autumn Tobias really held them together and showed some excellent leadership. Great work from Angie Grieb tonight earning her first win between the sticks. She made some really nice saves to keep us in the game.”

Record: BEA- 1-2 overall, 1-2 Mountain League
