Bald Eagle girls win thriller in OT

Defense led the way Monday night as the Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team defeated Philipsburg-Osceola in a 1-0 overtime Mountain League contest.

“Hats off to Philipsburg. They gave us a hard game and took us to overtime,” said Bald Eagle Area Coach Jared Moore. “The girls took quite a few shots but couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. They took it to overtime but they finally got one to go through. “

It would be Falen McHenry off a pass from Alex Hacker that would end the contest at 83:14.

Both teams finished with two corner each.

The Bald Eagles outshot PO 10-4.

BEA goalkeeper Angelina Grieb finished with four saves while PO’s Paige Rishell saves nine.

With the win the Eagles I’m prove to 6-2-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the Mountain League.

In the JV Contest, Bald Eagle also win 1-0. The goal came from Sara Thompson off an assist by Khloe Cunningham. Mackenzie Vozniak had five saves in the shutout.

JV Record: 4-0-2
