Bald Eagle grapplers take down Juniata

MIFFLINTOWN – The Bald Eagle Area wrestling team rebounded from its loss against Central Mountain last week and finished with a dominating 53-18 victory on January 21st.

Things started positively for the Indians in the 285 weight class as Hunter Lucas picked up the forfeit.

At 106: the Eagles Coen Bainey cut into the Juniata lead winning by a major decision 12-2 over Casey Smith

However, the Indians increased its lead to 12-4 in the 113- pound weight class.

Juniata’s Taylor Smith pinned Hunter Ishler at 2:11

120-pounder Cooper Gilham gave the Eagles a hard fought victory over Cameron Sweigart  1-0.

Grace Stem  helped Bald Eagle chip at the Juniata lead at 126 as she picked up a 9-3 decision over Daniel Painter

At 132, Bald Eagle was starting to heat up, Isaac Packer pinned Juniata’s Jacob Gilson at 1:43

Back came the Indians at 138, Tyson Aurand pinned Zander Ballock at 5:07.

The crafty Eagle veteran at 145, Gage  McClenahan pinned Waylon Ehrenzeller at 1:00.

Returning to the line up for Bald Eagle, 152-pounder Drew Koleno made a strong return pinning Josh Bomberger by Fall at 3:20.

160 pounder Noah Foltz kept the Eagles going north in a positive direction pinning Wesley Woodward (JUHS) at 5:41.

Things continued to shine bright for the Eagles going into 170.

Eagle Matthew Knepp muscled out a 4-3 decision over Phaustyn Houtz At 182 pounds Bald Eagles’ Brady Proctor picked up a major decision over Chase Willis, 14-4.

195: Chandler Burns (took over at 195 for Bald Eagle winning in an injury default over Jonathan Kauffman.

At 220, David  Close put the exclamation point on the match pinning Juniata’s Dominik Rowles at 0:50.
