Bald Eagle wins battle of the Mountain to clinch D6 title

It was a Mountain League battle for the D6 title.

Lady Rams Varsity Softball watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-1 loss to Bald Eagle Area on Thursday.  The Eagles took the lead on a home run in the second inning.

Bald Eagle Area fired up the offense in the second inning.  Shae Housel drove in two when Housel homered.

Sierra Albright got the start for Bald Eagle Area. Albright went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out 11 and walking zero.

Taylor Bumgardner led things off in the circle for Penns Valley . The pitcher went six innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out nine.

Bumgardner led the Lady Rams with two hits in three at bats.

Ava Stere went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Bald Eagle in hits.  Bald Eagle Area stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Kendra Uberti led the way with two.  Bald Eagle Area was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kailey Eckert had the most chances in the field with 13.
