Bald Eagle wrestlers make strong statement in win over PO

The Bald Eagle Area wrestling team rebounded sharply from its loss earlier in the week topping Philipsburg-Osceola 47.0-15.0.

Starting at 189, Bald Eagle’s Noah Foltz topped Dominic  Shaw via tech fall 15-0 with 3:45 left.

At 215, Matthew Knepp made it 2-for-2 with a pin fall at 1:52 over Andrew Hensal.

The Mounties got back on the board at 285, Chase Klinger pinned Eric Clark at 2:43.

The Eagles got back in the win column at 106 when Gavin Guenot won by injury time over Sam McDonald.

Bald Eagle continued its winning ways at 113.

Lucas Fye pinned Layne Russell at 0:09.

120-pounder Coen Bainey pinned Hunter Kephart at 1:33.

Philipsburg-Osceola picked up a hard fought victory by 126-pounder Nick Coudriet as he outlasted Hunter Gardner 3-0.

The Eagles got back to its winning ways once again at 132. Kevin Taylor topped Scott Frantz by decision at 9-2.

138-pounder Jeffre Pifer defeated Marcus Gable by a 6-3 decision.

Success continued at 145 when Tayten Yoder outlasted Ian Phillips by a 2-0 decision.

Philipsburg-Osceola took the 152 weight class. Austin Foster pinned Mason Reese at 2:36.

At 160, Bald Eagle’s Cameron Dubbs muscled out a hard fought 3-2 victory over Luke Hughes.

Rounding out the Eagles’ night at 172-pounder Caleb Close pinned Jim Richtscheit at 3:03.
