Bald Eagles defense strong again! Shuts out rival Bellefonte

WINGATE – Throw out the records when the Bald Eagle and Bellefonte girls soccer team meet up on the turf. In their first meeting of the year, the Eagles muscled out a win late to take home a 1-0 win on a Heather Leskovansky goal.

Wednesday night, the two battled once again and the results would be ironically the same. Leskovansky would once again make the winning goal en route to another 1-0 victory over the Lady Raiders.

“We had a little trouble getting going tonight but the girls finally found a rhythm and punched one in. Alex played a great ball and Heather finished it,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “We had to play hard defense against a tough Bellefonte team and the girls held out for the win.”

Leskovansky  scored off an assist from Alex Hacker making it a 1-0 lead at 37:05.

Defensively, it was the Lady Eagles third consecutive shut out.

The Eagles led in corner opportunities by a 4-0 margin.

They also led in shots on goal 13-8.

The win puts BEA Record to 8-3 overall and 5-3 Mountain League.

Next Game is 10/3  at PO.

In JV action BEA topped Bellefonte 2-0.

Scoring for Bald Eagle was Lily Spicer with an assisted Sara Thompson) and an unassisted goal from Alaina Grant.

Mackenzie Vozniak tallied five saves.
