Bellefonte boys clinch Mountain League with win over PO

Call them the champs!!!

With its 6-1 win over Philipsburg-Osceola Tuesday night, the Bellefonte boys soccer team win the Mountain League title.

“We came out very aggressive tonight. I asked the boys before the game to start quick and the offense answered. We dominated possession tonight,” said Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “It was a great offensive game for us with the guys working their passes trying to get everyone involved. With tonight’s win it locked up the Mountain League championship for us.”

In the 1st half, Bellefonte scored almost immediately at 1:06  when Gabe Koller notched an unassisted goal.

Not more than three minutes later, the Red Raiders scored again at 4:18 when Dan Persiko scored off an assist from Hayden Walker.

Minutes later Bellefonte was at it again as at 6:40 Walker got the goal as he got an assist from Persiko.

Walker was at it again thanks to an assist by Mintesinot Borst, making it 4-0 lead.

POs Dawson Snyder scored to end the first half scoring at 39:48.

Bellefonte continued to dominate the second half when Persiko scored at the 42:00 mark.

Persiko picked up the hat trick on an assist from Walker.

Bellefonte outshot PO 20-3.
