Bellefonte boys shut out Penns Valley in weekend showdown

In Saturday action, the Bellefonte boys soccer defeated Penns valley 3-0.

Bellefonte’s Shea Chapman got the scoring going on an assist Noah Gadsby, making it a 1-0 contest.

The Raiders added another goal to take the 2-goal advantage when Mintesinot Borst scored a goal via an assist from Hayden Walker.

Chapman finished the scoring with his second goal this time it was an assist by Walker to end the scoring.

“It was a very well played game by both teams. Bellefonte had to stop 2 penalty kicks early on in the game which sparked them alittle to get the 1st goal on the day,” said Bellefonte head coach Scott Martz. “Both team had chances to score but could not capitalize as both goalies played well. Bellefonte finally in the last 6 min of the game got the offense going by ending the game with 2 goals in a 2 min span.  We need to utilize our speed upfront and it took us till the final few min of the game today to get it going.”

The Red Raiders out shot Penns Valley 15-10.

Penns Valley’s goalie Gavin Robb finished with 10 saves while Bellefonte got an 8-save effort by Quinn Tooker.
