Bellefonte boys survive Nail biter over Tyrone

Thursday, the Bellefonte boys soccer team went up against Tyrone in a tough defensive Laurel Highlands battle.

When the dust settled in the contest, the Red Raiders came out victorious 2-1.

“It was a physical game. we hate lots of chances to score just couldn’t find the back of the net,” said Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “The crossbar was not our friend tonight we had 4 shots bounce off of it in the 1st half. It was a good hard fought win.

Bellefonte outshot Tyrone 12-3.

They also led in corner opportunities 7-5.

Bellefonte posted its first goal at 7:46 in the 1st half. John Servant scored on an assist from Connelly Stabinger.

At 23:13, Tyrone tied it on a Ned Spearman direct kick.

Servant put his team in the lead in the 2nd half at 69:16, surviving the 2-1 victory.
