Bellefonte evens record to .500, tops Warriors

Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders got out to a six-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors on Friday. Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Jocelyn Jean in the fourth, a in the fourth, a groundout by Johannah DeVore in the fourth, and a single by Natalie Bennett in the seventh.

Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors came thanks to a single by Jean, a groundout by DeVore, and by Kristen George.

Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders got things started in the first inning. Sienna Barnhart drove in one when Barnhart singled.

Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders scored three runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders was led by Barnhart and Josselyn Nau, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Nau was credited with the victory for Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders. Nau went seven innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one.

Mahlon Yonkin took the loss for Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors. The righthander went one-third of an inning, allowing three runs on three hits and walking zero.

Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders tallied eight hits. Barnhart, Nau, and Madison Melius each managed multiple hits for Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders. Melius, Nau, and Barnhart each collected two hits to lead Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders.

Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors racked up seven hits in the game. Yonkin and Hannah Klotz all managed multiple hits for Montoursville Varsity Lady Warriors.
