Bellefonte falls to veteran Tyrone squad
The Bellefonte girls basketball team went to try to pick up another win, this time against a very experienced Tyrone team Thursday night.
However, the Golden Eagles were to much for the Lady Raiders on defense as they spoiled the Bellefonte chances winning 54-22.
Red Raiders Maddie Tice was the lone double digit scorer her for her team on the night.
Tyrone’s Jaida Parker finishes with a game-High 18 points. Her teammate Steph Ramsey tallied 10.
Tyrone got off to a hot start, outscoring Bellefonte 16-3 in the first.
The ball wasn’t friendly to the Red Raiders in the second as well as Tyrone posted a 12-8 scoring output.
”it was a tough night for us offensively, especially after the way we played last night,” said Bellefonte coach Marcus Toomer. “But that is basketball and you have to find a way to build and grow through the adversity.”
Going into the intermission, Tyrone held a 28-11 advantage.
Going into the third it was more of the same as the Eagles again outscored the Red Raiders 19-6.
Tyrone also held the lead and went on for the victory.
