Bellefonte girls use second half goal to notch victory over Penns Valley

On Tuesday night, the Bellefonte girls soccer team defeated Penns Valley in a thrilling 2-1 contest. Penns Valley scored first on a unassisted shot by Cate Goodwin, giving her team the advantage early.Liberty Fike assisted by Kerri Shutika (Shutika crossed the ball to Fike in front of the goal – who finessed a ball into the goal)

In the second half, Bellefonte notched the final goal of the game when Kerri Shutika scored off an Emily Culp pass. Culp sent a ball from defense that sailed over PV’s defense. Shutika ran onto the ball and had a breakaway 1 on 1 with the keeper. Shutika placed a low ball passed PV keeper Noelle Web for the eventual winning shot.
