Bellefonte Matmen fall by lone point to Williamsport in Elite Eight team states

BELLEFONTE – The historic season came to an end for the Bellefonte wrestling team as they dropped their PIAA Class 3A Team Dual Quarterfinals to Williamsport team Wednesday at Bellefonte, 33-32.

It would be a nailbiter as the Millionaires pulled out the victory on criteria points.

Starting at 172, Williamsport started off the night with an early victory by Sebastian Robinson,

Via a major decision over Stephen Ivicic, 8-0.

Back came the Red Raiders at 189 when Max Barrier pinned Ryan Dunlap at :15, taking a 6-4 advantage.

Bellefonte added to its lead at 215 when Addison Shawley muscled out a major decision over Charlie Lundy, 13-4.

285-pounder Ethan Rossman held onto a 2-0 decision over the Millionaires’Charles Crews.

In the light weight division, Williamsport’s 106 pounder Cael Nasdeo pinned Garrett Choates, :51.

At 113, Bellefonte’s Aidan O’Shea, dominated for a tech. fall over Luke Segraves, 15-0 (5:27).

Back came the Red Raiders at 120-pounds as Lane Aikey pulled out a major decision over Devin Harris, 14-0.

But Williamsport refused to go away as they took 126 when Austin Stugart pinned Aaron McClusick, :57.

The Millionaires made it two in a row when at 132, Braden Bower, Pulled out a tech. fall over Gage Long, 15-0 (5:08).

138-pounder Jude Swisher put his team back on the board as he managed a major decision over Carter Weaver, 9-1.

At 145, the Millionaires struck again when Riley Bower pinned Grady Garrison, :56.

Williamsport got its last win of the night at 152 when Roman Morrone, pinned Andrew McChesney, :20.

Rounding out the match at 160, Bellefonte’s Ethan Richner pinned Connor Hunsberger at :38.
