Bellefonte mounts late game rally, tops PV

SPRING MILLS – After a heartbreaking loss to the Clearfield Bison in overtime last week, the Bellefonte Red Raiders football team were looking for redemption as they battled the 0-4 Penns Valley squad who was looking for its first win of the year.

Bellefonte opened to a slow start as it fell behind 20-14. But the Red Raiders were able to regroup and dug down deep to defeat the Rams late 27-20.

Kaven Smith-Kirk had another explosive night rushing posting 181-yards rushing along with 2TDs.

Ashten Howell finished with a touchdown of his own to go along with 36 yards rushing.

Rounding out the Bellefonte leading rusher was Alten Howell who rushed his way to a 75-yard rushing night.

Jackson Long had the fourth touchdown on the night via a kick return.

Bellefonte scored first to take a 7-0 advantage.

With the win, Bellefonte moves to 2-3 on the year and looks to try to get back to .500 against Bald Eagle Area Friday.
