Bellefonte uses long ball to quiet Big Valley 11/12s

In the battle of unbeatens, Bellefonte mixed strong pitching with an explosive offensive performance to keep its unbeaten streak alive against a fiesty and very dangerous Big Valley 11/12 year old team.
It took little time for Bellefonte’s Trevor Johnson to heat up in their Thursday night’s game against Big Valley.
Johnson had the ball in his sights all evening as he blasted three home runs to lead his team to a 9-0 victory.
Johnson went for a 4-hit afternoon.
Big Valley battled throughout the game but couldn’t find that elusive next hit that would have plated a teammate.
Picking up the win for the Red Raiders was Braedyn Kormanic
Bellefonte lost the toss and Big Valley was the home team.
Triston Heckman led things off for the Red Raiders with a single.
It took just one at bat for Johnson to go yard and give his team a 2-0 lead.
Big Valley shut the next three batters down and kept the damage to minimum.
However, Big Valley went down 1-2-3, in its part of the first.
Bellefonte added another in the second when Josh Brown singled, stole second and was then singled home by Caleb Stock, making it 3-0.
Bellefonte added one more in the third as Johnson doubled, Jacob Coreman singled then brought Johnson in to take a 4-0 advantage.
Offensively, Big Valley could not get its potent hitting going.
Bellefonte added four more in the fourth.
Johnson highlighted the inning with his second round tripper and third hit of the game.
Going into the last inning Johnson added the game’s last run, posting his final home run, ending the contest at 9-0.
Big Valley will look to rebound as they will play either Penns Valley or State College Friday at a location TBA.
