For the third time this season, Bellefonte cross country competed on their home course. With the music being played to get ready and the singing of the national anthem by our girls varsity team. Also taking the time to recognize some of our teachers with much appreciation. It was a good evening to watch a cross country race unfold. Both boys and girls competed against Chestnut Ridge and Bishop Carroll.
On the boys side, Bellefonte started out with each other in the race and progressed through the last mile of the 5k course. Kaiden Williams had an exciting finish against a Chestnut Ridge runner. You could hear the cheer and excitement for the finish as Williams raced to the line first with a time of 18:24. Coming in third and forth was Bellefonte’s Maverick Muchmore and Jonathan Gasper. Muchmore ran a time of 19:03 and Gasper 19:12. Elijah Davis had his best run of the season placing seventh with a time of 20:14. Kaiden Musser returned back to racing and with him finishing the race, it secured the wins over Chestnut Ridge and Bishop Carroll. Musser’s time was 27:42. The Boys moved to 5-0 in league competition.

For the girls, it was very much a good team race once again. Addison Fry and Natalie Jolley ran together giving themselves a second and third place finish. Fry ran a 22:10 and Jolley ran a 22:20. Emma Burger ran her best race of the season placing sixth with a time of 24:54. Coming in tenth, eleventh and twelfth was Anna Tyson (27:08), Alexis Fravel (27:14) and Ruthann Smoyer (27:26.) The girls move to 4-1 for the season and keep getting faster.
I’m truly excited to see both our varsity teams compete against some good fast competition this coming Saturday at the PIAA Foundation meet in Hershey, PA.
