Bellefonte XC team sweeps Tyrone

Bellefonte hosted Tyrone this evening at our home course of Governor’s Park.  The Raiders held a high school girls’ race, a high school boys’ race, and a Jr. High race.  “We did have a mishap during the girls’ race, which resulted in all runners racing 2.5miles rather than the 5K,” said Bellefonte coach Carla Cipro. “That was fixed for the boys’ race.  All in all, everything seemed to work out.”

In the boy’s race Bellefonte topped Tyrone 17-46.

Bellefonte finished with the top three finishers. They were led by Chase Ebeling’s first place finish of 18:29. He was followed by a second place nod of Alex Crist at 19:03 and a third from Aaron Carlini with a 20:11.

From there the Red Raiders held down the fifth through 10th spot helping their team to victory.

With the Bellefonte win, the crew ups it’s Mountain League Record to 3-0.

On the girls side, the Lady Red Raiders defeated the Eagles 15-50.

Pacing the way for the Bellefonte girls was Ashleigh Aukerman with a second place time of 20:01.

Teammate Katie Gearhart landed a hard-earned third place finish with a time of 21:09.

Rounding out the top five was Alexis Fravel with a time of 22:05.

The win gave the girls its first victory of the season, sitting at 1-2.

Bellefonte’s next meet is on Saturday at Hershey for the PIAA Foundation Invitational and the Raiderx next Mountain League Meet is home against BEA on Tuesday, September 28th.
