Big bats late lifts Bellefonte over Bald Eagle

The saga continues.
Bellefonte and Bald Eagle Area renewed its rivalry Wednesday afternoon as Mother Nature gave the area a break long enough for the two to match up for bragging rights. In the end, the Red Raiders picked up the first meeting winning 10-1.
For five innings, the two battled defensively, tied at one.
But then the Red Raiders offense began to sizzle thanks to a CJ Funk round tripper that plated three.
That would spark a Bellefonte fifth inning that saw six Red Raiders cross the plate safely.
Picking up the other RBIs in the inning were Daniel Catchmark and Robert Marsh.
Bellefonte opened the scoring in the game after two and half innings of scoreless ball, Bellefonte got on the board via a Catchmark single. When the inning was over, Catchmark scored the first run.
Bald Eagle Area refused to go away as it battled back in the top of the fourth to knot the game at one.
Hunter Brooks sparked the Eagles inning as he worked his way across the base paths and later scored, making it 1-1.
Offensively, the Red Raiders knocked around nine hits and Ashton Wetzler took the victory.
Mound advisory, Garret Barnhart took the loss.
