Big Fifth Inning Leads Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies Past Cedar Cliff

Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies defeated Cedar Cliff 7-1 on Monday thanks in part to five runs in the fifth inning. Liam Shaffer singled, scoring one run, Ezra Beamer singled, scoring one run, Carson Cherry singled, scoring two runs, and a steal of home scored one run.
A walk by Hollingshead put Cedar Cliff on the board in the top of the first.
Jude Zook grounded into a fielder’s choice, which helped Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.
Thad Gerwick stepped on the hill first for Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and one run over six and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Sollenberger stepped on the mound first for Cedar Cliff. The hurler surrendered three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one and walking five. Cherry appeared in relief for Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies.
