Bouncing back! Lady Raiders back on track after win against Clearfield

Notch another “W” in the win column.

The Lady Raiders bounced back from a loss yesterday and dominated Clearfield 50-25 in Mountain League action Thursday.

Bellefonte sharpshooter Maddie Tice topped all scorers with an 18-point effort.

Teammate Sara DeHaas rounded out the top scorers for Bellefonte with 10.

Clearfield High Scorer was Emma Hipps with nine.

“This was a great bounce back for us after our performance from last night,” said Bellefonte coach Marcus Toomer. “We came out strong to start the game and never looked back.”

In the first quarter, the Lady Raiders came out and made a statement, posting 20 points while holding Clearfield to six.

Things continued to go in Bellefonte’s favor in the second period, outscoring their opponent 8-2.

Going into the intermission, the Red Raiders seemed in solid shape leading 28-8.

Bellefonte continued its scoring frenzy in the third outscoring Clearfield 14-6.

Though in the fourth, Clearfield outscored Bellefonte it wouldn’t be enough as the Red Raiders held onto the 50-25 victory.

With the win, the Lady Raider improves to 6-8.
