Campbell captures 300th win; BEA sweeps Bearcats

It was a historic night for the Bald Eagles Volleyball team Tuesday night in their game against Huntingdon.

With the 3-0 win over the Bearcats, the Lady Eagles helped capture their head coach Larry Campbell’s 300th career victory.

“It was a lot of kids doing a lot of things,” said Campbell about his win.

His resume speaks for itself as it long and distinguished.

He was the Head Coach at Bellefonte from 2001-2007.

Then in 2007 moved over to take the helm at Bald Eagle Area.

In his time there he won one State AA Title, four District Titles and  seven Mountain League Titles.

Unarguably the most impressive was his streak of no Mountain league matches lost from October 2014 through October 2020.

In September 24, 2020 his team broke the record for most consecutive Mountain League wins with 80 wins.

It was also night of celebration as Bald Eagle topped the 4-6 Bearcat team 25-9, 25-23 and 25-23, securing  themselves nothing less than a number four seed in the upcoming district 6 playoffs.

Madison Perry had 10 kills to pace the Eagles.

In game one, the Lady Eagles dominated the Bearcats posting the 25-9 victory.

Huntingdon battled back in the second and third sets to make it close but in both games they fell two points short each time, falling 25-23 and 25-23.

The Eagles ended the regular season in fine fashion and will start their quest for another District 6 title next week.
