Centre County Babe Ruth Make Comeback Attempt, But Falls To Broomall Newtown

Despite a 6-run deficit in the fifth inning, Centre County Babe Ruth almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-6 to Broomall Newtown on Saturday. Centre County closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a , a single, and a home run.
Broomall Newtown got on the board in the top of the first inning after Marro doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
Broomall Newtown scored three runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to center field by Patterson.
Centre County scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth on a home run to left field by Logan Gibson.
Ethan Prenatt began the game for Centre County . The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Doyle started on the mound for Broomall Newtown. They allowed one hit and three runs (zero earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out six and walking three.
Gibson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Centre County with three runs batted in. The switch hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Maximus Vendemia and Gibson each collected two hits for Centre County Babe Ruth. Prenatt stole two bases. Centre County turned one double play in the game.
Patterson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Broomall Newtown with three runs batted in. They went 2-for-3 on the day. Alpizi and Patterson each collected two hits for Broomall Newtown Broomall Newtown had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Buckley, Tyler, and Magee led the team with two free passes each. Broomall Newtown Babe Ruth turned one double play in the game.
