Competitive Game Ends In Walkoff As Mifflin County 13u  Falls To West End

A walk-off left the Mifflin County 13u All Stars on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to West End  on Saturday. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the eighth when James Naughton singled, scoring one run.

Mifflin County fell despite leading 5-0 in the first.

The MC 13s got on the board in the top of the first inning after Carter Sunderland singled, Mason Joyce walked, Caden McClure walked, Talon Penepacker hit into a fielder’s choice, and West End committed an error, each scoring one run.

A single by Chase Benfer extended the Mifflin County lead to 6-2 in the top of the second inning.

Mifflin County committed an error, which helped West End tie the game at six in the bottom of the fifth.

Parker Frederick earned the win for West End. The southpaw allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. Chase Krepps took the loss for MC. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out none and walking three. Rowan Duffy started on the mound for West End. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and five runs (four earned) over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking four.

Sunderland, McClure, Penepacker, Benfer, and Joyce each drove in one run for Mifflin County. Cohen Leister led MC with two hits in four at bats.

Nick Dincher went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead West End in hits. Collin Brandt and Liam Lucas each drove in two runs for West End 13U. Cameron DeNune stole two bases. West End stole seven bases in the game.
