Cubbison finishes 7th in Mid-Penn Championships

The Mid Penn Championships took place today at Big Spring High School, Newville, PA. Kylee Cubbison brought home a 7th place medal finish out of 159 girls competing in the varsity race. Her finish time of 19:32 is right in the ballpark of many of her finishes this season but on a more difficult course.

“That’s progress that we celebrate as she gets closer to competing in Districts to make her third run toward the state championships,” said Mifflin County coach Neil Breneman said. Today after the race Kylee reflected on some of the mental rehearsal that went through her mind during the race. Kylee is incredibly strong physically so focusing on her mental toughness and confidence is also key to be in sync with her physical ability. Running is so much more than a physical sport.”

The remainder of the girls team faced some twists and turns that have been challenging.

“I am so proud of Sarah and Ava for going out there today and bravely giving their best,” said Breneman. “We can be proud that they also represent a hard working “fighting spirit” on the course for Mifflin County.”

Mifflin County’s last home meet of the season will take place on Thursday, October 21against Susquenita and Juniata before having time to prepare for Districts on October
