Cubbison runs for worthy cause in Indoor track and field championships

Sophomore phenom Kylee Cubbison will be competing in the Mile this weekend in the Indoor State Track and Field Championships at the Penn State University this Sunday.

Not only will Cubbison be running for her team but she also be running for a cause.

Kylee is going to be wearing a Moore High School, Oklahoma distance team warm up shirt this Sunday at states in honor of the Moore runners that were hit by a drunk driver 10 minutes into their workout.

A local high school team close to Moore led by Union coach Toby Hummingbird team made bracelets to bringing awareness and show support. His team will be sending some to the Mifflin County team.

The Husky team is also going to do a 10 minute run on March 13th in coordination with the Oklahoma schools to show support for the kids who died and are injured.

So when Cubbison lines up to run, she will not only be running for herself and her team but also in memory of those memory students who were injured or killed in the tragedy.

It is quite a generous and thoughtful motive to be running for.

She will be running Sunday in the mile and will be the lone representative for Mifflin County.

**If you want to help in donating to the team’s fundraiser, we will update on where to send the donations.
