Dom’s Predictions Friday Night Preview Week 6

The Mifflin County Huskies will be looking to get back into the win column after entering this game on a three game losing streak. Mifflin County must win out to have a chance to play in the postseason.
Mifflin County enters week 6 with a 2-3 record. Palmyra will travel down to Donald Chapman lll stadium also hold a 2-3 record looking to build off a 9-7 win against Waynesboro on the road. The Cougars will look to defeat the Huskies that hasn’t happened since 2021 where they defeated Mifflin County on their home turf 42-13. The Cougars ended their season with a 5-5 record that season.
It will be a hostel environment on Friday night as it’s homecoming night at Mifflin County. It will be the first homecoming held at Donald Chapman lll Stadium. The Cougars will hope to spoil that.
Last week Mifflin County fell to Shippensburg 21-6 on the road. Mifflin County had 205 total yards in the loss. Chase Hartung didn’t look bad despite the Huskies only pushing across one score. He was 18/24 for 155 yards, one touchdown and he threw his second interception of the season.
The Mifflin County defense held the Greyhounds to 24 yards passing but the defense were faced with 186 yards on the ground on 41 attempts, allowing three scores to come across all coming on the ground.
Mifflin Could are likely to see a pair of quarterbacks. This offense likes to change things up. Talon Speck plays quarterback but he is second on the team in receiving yards but only averaging 14.8 yards per game. Roman Russek also serves as their quarterback as well so look for the Cougars to mix things up on the Purple and White.
On the defensive side for Palmyra, Braeden Basehore likes to wreak havoc in the backfield looking for him to make things difficult for Hartung, Basehore 2.0 sacks this season he averages 1.1 a game.
Mason Kyper is another one that could make an impact on the value of the receivers Mifflin County has and the passing lanes he has two interceptions on the season.
Mifflin County has had great performances from Gavin Herrington. He is returning to form after a slow start. Adan Daubert and Jarren Kenny have been good off the edge too. Look for that to play a factor in this game and the rest of the season as they get ready to face some tough opponents down the stretch. With Grant Johnson still to see he ranks first in passing with 1,157 yards and Lower Dauphin Braedon Heckard ranking fifth with 333 yards with a good defense against Lower Dauphin they are beatable Gettysburg it will be tough.
Prediction Huskies vs Cougars
Mifflin County will hope to find a spark will this be the game that it happens. Shane Breon told me after the game last week that winning must start now and his team must acknowledge that. The Cougars haven’t beat the Huskies since 2021. I don’t think it happens this year either. The Huskies offense has playmakers on both sides of the football. Look for the home crowd to bring the energy that the home team will feed off of. I’m a firm believer of thinking that this team will finally get back into the win column. Just remember last year the Huskies got the win on homecoming against Waynesboro. Give me the Dawgs to get the job done.
Mifflin County 31-14
