Dom’s Predictions Friday NightLights Preview

Mifflin County (5-4) is back home and will clash with Gettysburg (2-6) at Donald Chapman Stadium on senior night..
Mifflin County will look to get back on a winning streak after winning two out of three games, their last loss coming at Hershey Park Stadium as they fell the Lower Dauphin 35-26 on Saturday.
Mifflin County’s has leaned on the run game as the Huskies have rushed over 100 yards in their last four straight games Brandon Kauffman doing it again last week putting up 116 yards. Chase Hartung was also a bright spot having one of his better performances throwing for 202 yards completing 15/27 on two touchdowns with just one interception so if he can bring those kinds of numbers with him into this game it should be a happy crowd.
Mifflin County will need to win this game to put together a winning season that hasn’t happened since 2022 the great late Scot Secler led them to a district playoff game the Huskies would later fall to Altoona 31-24.
Mifflin County will look to use that to build their confidence heading into this game with heavy hearts and remembering that the last time the Huskies were able to clinch a postseason berth was under Secler terms but it would be quite emotional for Mifflin County fans if veteran minded Shane Breon can make it happen again with Mifflin County needing one win to clinch a winning season and two wins to most likely guarantee themselves a postseason bid.
Mifflin County has had a solid defense all season to the likes of Adan Daubert,Gavin Herrington,Jarren Kenny,Brayan Aurand and others that will need to continue Mifflin County did have a few players go down in Saturday’s game Kenny and Breon both left the game its unclear if they will play in tonight’s game but Mifflin County can still rely on Daubert’s presence and the star studded Harrington which they call Herbo to get the job done.In the secondary its been little bro Lucas Hartung making plays a year ago it was veteran minded Reese Christine despite Christine only being a junior last year he brings tons of experience with him and that has carried into this season Hartung is a kid that came into camp as a rookie and started performing at a high level on day one and the scrimmage that i covered against Juniata.
Gettysburg brings with them the passing leader of the Mid Penn Keystone this year  his name is Grant Johnson he averages 200.4 yards a game and has 1,603 yards this season so far the top three is Cameron Sweeney who made his presence known when he played at Donald Chapman Stadium earlier in the season Hartung sits third on the list entering Saturday’s game Hartung sat behind Johnson but now holds the third spot again.
Gettysburg has been out of sorts and it doesn’t look good entering this week they are coming off a heartbreaker losing to Palmyra in a game that went back and fourth with the Cougars having the last laugh dowing the Warriors 43-35 so Gettysburg will look to do better in this game and look to put that behind them.

Mifflin County has been hungry for wins it all started back when they lost three straight games and it was at Shippensburg when Breon said we have to find out who we really are and play better and see who wants to play football ever since that was said it lit a fire into this team Mifflin County would go onto win two straight they come into this game off a loss in a game where if they made just a few more plays they would have won the game. Mifflin County has played well defensively and have really rallied behind running the ball with four straight 100 plus yard games 3 out of the four came off the legs of Kauffman the first one was Jaxon Strohecker with that being said Gettysburg beat Mifflin County soundly on their home turf last year but its a different environment this time around the Dawgs will eat give me the Huskies they get the win in front of the home crowd.
