East Juniata fall to Altoona In girls soccer action

The East Juniata girls soccer team ran into a very experienced Altoona team Saturday, falling 5-1.

“Even with the loss, we’re happy with what we saw. Even with a starter out with an injury, multiple other girls not 100%, and not having a large bench, we stayed in the game well into the second half,” said East Juniata coach Valeria Dressler. “We had multiple dangerous opportunities we didn’t finish that could have easily changed the game. We look forward to having a full healthy squad.”

EJ Girls lone goal came from Kierstyn Fogle on an unassisted goal at 29:06.

The Tigers finished with six shots on goal and 12 keeper saves.

Altoona got 17 shots on goal and five five goals.

East Juniata’s record falls to 2-1 overall.

The Tigers next game is September 28th against Halifax.
