East Juniata girls explodes for 11 goals en route a convincing victory

East Juniata’s Leah Sankey sparked her team to victory Saturday, defeating Sullivan County 11-1 in first round of District playoff action putting away four goals.

The EJ Girls dominated the contest from beginning to the end as teammate Kierstyn Fogle tallied two goals and two assists.

Offensively, the Lady Tigers finished with a 24-shot effort.

Brianna Henry started the scoring as she was assisted by Fogle at 7:15.

Fogle posted her first goal on an unassisted goal at 21:38.

Sankey hit her first goal on an unassisted shot at 25:33.

Sankey was at it again less than a minute later on another unassisted goal at 26:20.

At 29:29 Sankey notched the early hat trick on yet another unassisted goal at 29:29.

Amara Brubaker kept the scoring going hitting an unassisted goal of her own at 34:45.

Sankey finished her scoring on an assist by Fogle at 48:07.

Fogle posted another unassisted goal this time at the 69:45 mark.

Brubaker posted her second goal of the contest via an unassisted blast at 71:55.

Carlee Barrick put her team in the double-digit column as she was assisted by Macy Buskey at 75:52.

Rounding out the East Juniata scoring was Marissa Coudriet on an unassisted goal at 79:50.

East Juniata improves to 13-2 overall and a 10-0 mark in TVL action.
