East Juniata softball too much for rival Indians

MIFFLINTOWN- It was a tough regular season ending for the Juniata girls softball team falling to Juniata County rival East Juniata 7-4.

Offensively, Regan Lowrey had a strong day at the plate going 3-for-4, 2 runs, two stolen bases, and an RBI. Teammate Ashley Piper was a perfect 2-for-2 and scored a run. Rounding out the Lady Indians stand outs was Tori Moore as she went 1-for-3, a run, two stolen bases, and an RBI.

Lowrey posted a single in the seventh inning, a single in the first and third inning.

East Juniata got on the board in the top of the first inning.

The Lady Tigers added another in the second inning.

By the third inning, the squad from East Juniata built up a 5-0 advantage.

The Indians rallied back to get within striking distance but fell short despite the heroic attempt.

Kaylnn Brown pitched four innings in relief for Juniata. The reliever surrendered three hits and two runs while, striking out two and walking none. Addison Rutherford took the loss for the Indians.

Victoria Moore and Lowrey were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Juniata. Moore, Lowrey, and Piper each stole multiple bases for Juniata Varsity Indians. Juniata Varsity Indians stole seven bases in the game.

East Juniata collected 12 hits in the game.
