East Juniata wins Saturday afternoon match up with Midd-West

MIDDLEBURG – In a Saturday Matinee, the East Juniata girls basketball team were the stars as they defeated Midd-West 34-21.

Offensively, the Lady Tigers got a 14-point effort by Amara Brubaker.

Alyssa Robinson chipped in with eight points, two of her shots came from beyond the 3-point line.

In the opening period, East Juniata’s offense outscored the Mustangs 17-4.

It’s defense dominated the second quarter tossing a shut out while scoring five.

Going into the intermission, the Tigers had a secure 22-4 advantage.

Things were closer in the the third period but East Juniata was still able to outscore Midd-West 10-7.

The Mustangs took the fourth period scoring as it kept the Lady Tigers to just two points.

But it would be too little too late as East Juniata went home with the victory.
