EJ boys grind out hard fought victory over Halifax

In a defensive contest, the East Juniata defense dig deep and came out the victors of a hard fought 1-0 Tri-Valley League match up against Halifax.

The lone goal of the game was scored in the first half by Cade Brubaker who collected a deflected shot effort by Jayden Martin. He then shot an excellent finish high off the post in the far corner.

“I felt our defensive effort was solid, with very few breakdowns tonight. Most of the time they stepped up and won 50/50 balls and marked well,” said East Juniata coach Cory Fronk.

“Our possession and buildup to scoring opportunities was decent, however we will definitely have to increase the percentage of scoring chances we

convert. Our statistician had us with 20 shots. That’s alot of missed opportunities but fortunately you only have to win by one goal.”
