EJ boys hold onto top Midd-West by two

The East Juniata boys basketball team edged out a tough non-conference contest with Midd-West.

In the end, the Tigers outscored the Mustangs, 51-49.

EJ’s Billy Dressler dominated on offense posting a 27-point effort to pace the winners.

In the opening period, East Juniata outscored Midd-West 18-9.

The Mustangs battled back in the second outscoring the Tigers, 11-7.

Going into the half, East Juniata led 26-20.

Midd-West kept the momentum going in the third period, outscoring East Juniata once again, 14-9 setting up an exciting final stanza.

The Tigers would survive a strong test by the Wildcats when it mattered, posting a 17-15 advantage securing EJ the victory.
