Foxpro takes game 1 of opening round series

Foxpro Predators 14, Spring Mills Braves 1 (5 innings)
LEWISTOWN – The Predators start game one of a three game series with a 14-1 rout of the Spring Mills Braves at Rec Park Sunday afternoon.
Foxpro made quick work of the Braves during the top of the first inning as starting pitcher Landon Black struckout the side.
But then in the bottom half of the first, the Predators dropped two runs in the frame starting with a one out double to centerfield by Jaxson Pupo. Rylan Bailey was then hit by a pitch before the Eichhorn brothers went back to back with RBIs. Big brother Ethan smacked a single up the middle and drove in Pupo before little brother Landen grounded out to second but scored Bailey to make it a 2-0 game.
The bats were still hot for Foxpro in the bottom of the second inning where the Predators added on two more runs. Once again it was the Eichhorn brothers bringing in the runs with Ethan getting a single which brought home Dan Brundage and then Landen drew a walk with the bases loaded that scored Calin McKnight extending the Foxpro lead to 4-0.
Three more runs were scored during the bottom half of the third inning as McKnight hit a SAC fly to center which brought home Brundage. Jaxson Pupo then singled in Xavier Smith before being before scoring on a wild pitch making the lead 9-0.
But Spring Mills refused to give up and was able to get on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning as Kevin Sweeley hammered in a single which brought home Colton Treaster to cut the lead down to 9-1.
However, Foxpro managed to put the game on ice in the bottom half of the same inning. The Predators had a total of seven runs in the frame which included a three run home run by Jaxson Pupo.
Offensively the Predators were led by Pupo who went 3-for-4 at the plate and had a double, a home run and collected four RBIs. Ethan Eichhorn was a perfect 3-for-3 for Foxpro and had three runs batted in. McKnight and Brundage also had multi-hit games.
Black pitched all five innings for the Predators and collected nine of the 15 total outs of the game. Black also allowed one run on three hits.
The Braves were led by Sweeley who went 2-for-2 at the plate and drove in the lone run of the game for them. The other hit was made by Brooks.
Foxpro takes a (1-0) lead of the series and will look to finish the series on Tuesday as they will travel to Spring Mills with a game time of 6 p.m.
