Greenwood tops East Juniata field hockey 11-1

The Greenwood field hockey team had its sticks going strong as it defeated East Juniata 11-1.

In the First Half, Greenwood’s

Leah Bryner off a Grace Lesh assist at 23:22, made it 1-0.

Hailey Womer notched the Wildcats second goal off an assist from Bryner at 22:05.

Lesh off a Bryner pass made it 3-0 at 21:18

Lesh followed at 19:16then Womer scores off an Abby Taylor pass at  14:28.

Cori Davis continued thanks to a Bryner pass at 9:43

Kinsey Flickinger kept up the scoring as she put one past for a goal from a pass by Jordan Stroup at 3:25

In the Second Half, Stroup scored off an Emma Rolston pass at 21:55.

Stroup  after a pass from Womer added another one at 17:25.

East Juniata’s Karah Goss had the Tigers only goal at 11:03,

Flickinger  Pitcher team in double digits with a goal at 5:15while Taylor off a pass from Riley Danko scored the last goal at 3:31.

Greenwood led in the shots on goal department by a 25-5  margin and led in corners by a 17-2 margin.

 Goalie Emily Carolus had 14 saves.

In the JV Game Greenwood won 4-0 over East Juniata.

East Juniata’s Overall record is 0-3, and a League record of 0-2.  

“The girls played well tonight.  I am so proud of them for scoring on Greenwood.  The defense played great and worked together to limit Greenwood on what they could have scored,” said East Juniata coach Harley Straub. “They stood strong through 17 corners, and that’s a lot of corners when it comes to field hockey.  Once again, we scored!  We have scored in all of our games so far, and I am proud of the girls for that.”

Our next game is Thursday when we travel to Newport at 7:15 p.m.
