Halifax trips you Juniata in boys hoops action
The Juniata Indians basketball team took a tough loss on the hardwood Thursday, falling to Halifax 55-47.
Leading the way offensively for the Indians was Jamie Bailor with a team -High 23 points. Teammate Emmanuel O’Donnell rounded out the team’s double-digit scorers with 10.
Halifax got a 29-point effort by Nathan Busick.
In the first period, the two went right at each other, with Halifax having the scoring advantage at 15-11 going into the second quarter.
15’s were Halifax’s lucky number as they scored 15 points in three-of-four of its quarters on the night.
The second proved to be another -5-point effort while its defense shit down the Indians 15-7, taking a 30-18 advantage into the half.
Juniata tried to bounce back in the third but Halifax had other ideas as it narrowly outscored Juniata 10-9.
In the final stanza, the Indians battled back to try to get back in the game but it wasn’t enough, falling 55-47.
